Welcome to this site for the Anglican Parish of Upper Riccarton-Yaldhurst, Diocese of Christchurch which includes St Peter’s Anglican Church on Church Corner and their sister church of St Luke’s in Yaldhurst. We pray for all who enter our church.

Our parish is warm, caring, inclusive, diverse and forward thinking supported by a committed congregation. As part of the worldwide community of Christians, we welcome people at any point in their faith journey and from any background, denomination or belief. You will find that we don’t have all the answers to life’s questions but we are on a journey to discover more about God’s love and purpose for us. In this earth we walk with Jesus, who shared with us all the happiness and sadness of life, and revealed God to us in a way no one else has ever done.

Week by week we meet together in this place to worship and, as Anglicans, we use the rich resource which is our Prayer book for this purpose. This enables us to express things so powerful and beautiful that we would find difficult to put into our own words individually. We believe that this framework of worship and the flow of what we call the liturgy, assists us to focus our thoughts and our prayers towards God.

Twice a month, a service is also held at St Luke’s Church on School Road in Yaldhurst. St Peter’s and St Luke’s have had a strong relationship for many decades and continue to journey together and share resources. Our clergy works to teach and care for both congregations.
